Dose

Also known as dose · dosis de café · coffee dose · gramos de café

Dosificación en balanza durante un pour-over

What it is and what sets it apart: Dose is how much coffee you use—not ratio and not beverage yield. Espresso often 16–20 g; filter by method. Dose consistency means repeating that mass.

How it’s used or measured: Always weigh. Lock dose, then tune grind/yield. Dose is central in Brew Lab recipes.

Flavours and cup impact: Same dose + good dial-in → predictable strength. Raising dose without more water intensifies the cup.

Technical notes: Not ratio 1:N and not EY%. Bar brew ratio links dose and yield.

Common mistakes: Dosing by eye. Changing dose and grind together. Filling the basket without weighing.
