Dialling in espresso

Also known as dial-in · dial in · calibración de espresso · ajuste de molino

Calibrar espresso (dial-in) en barra

What it is and what sets it apart: Dial-in reaches your flavour window. Not shot time alone—time, brew ratio and taste travel together.

How it’s used or measured: Lock dose → pick target yield (e.g. 1:2) → tweak grind for flow/time + taste. Log the winning recipe in Brew Lab.

Flavours and cup impact: Good dial-in: sweetness, integrated acidity, no channels. Under: sharp/fast; over: bitter/slow.

Technical notes: Change one variable at a time. Links to channeling, dose consistency, yield.

Common mistakes: Chasing only 25–30 s. Changing dose, grind and ratio together. Ignoring visible channeling.
