Kalita Wave

Also known as Kalita · Wave 185

Dripper Kalita Wave de acero

Kalita Wave uses a waved filter and flat bottom with three holes for more even saturation than a steep cone.

Medium-fine grind, bloom, controlled pours. Often more forgiving than a V60 while staying sweet.

How to use

Ratios, gear and steps to brew it.

Ratios and parameters

  • Dose 15 g
  • Water 250 ml
  • Ratio 1:16–1:17
  • Grind Medium
  • Temperature 92–96 °C
  • Time 2:45–3:15

What you need

  • Kalita Wave
  • Wave filter
  • Scale
  • Gooseneck

Brewing steps

  1. Rinse the Wave filter (seat it in the ridges).

  2. Bloom 40 ml / 45 s.

  3. Pulse pour center; flat bottom is more forgiving than V60.

  4. Finish ~250 ml and wait for drawdown.

Tips

  • Avoid aggressive wall pours—Wave likes a steady center stream.
  • Great if V60 feels inconsistent.
