Demucilaging

Also known as demucilage · demucilaging · desmucilaginación · mechanical demucilage

What it is and what sets it apart: Differs from honey (mucilage stays) and natural (whole fruit). Mechanical saves water vs traditional ferment.

How it is done: Pulp → demucilager / ferment / enzymes → optional wash → dry parchment.

Flavours and cup benefits: Enables clean washed cups. Eco-pulper water efficiency; poor setup scrapes beans.

Technical notes: Wastewater and disc maintenance. Label: demucilaged / washed.

Common mistakes: Demucilage does not mean zero aromatic fermentation. Do not confuse with wet-hulled.
