Storing coffee

Also known as storage · conservación · guardar café · coffee storage

What it is and what sets it apart: Differs from “any pretty jar”—light, heat, moisture and air kill coffee. Whole bean + dosing helps.

How it is done: Keep in original valved bag or opaque container → cool dry place → open briefly → freeze portions if slow use.

Flavours and cup benefits: Keeps sweetness and clarity longer. Less waste, steadier cups.

Technical notes: Avoid the fridge (moisture/odours) unless tightly controlled. Keep away from spices.

Common mistakes: Do not store on a sunny counter. Do not refill a huge clear jar with headspace for months.
