Roast

Roast curve

Also known as roast curve · roast graph · curva térmica

What it is and what sets it apart: The curve is the record; the profile is the intent. Without a curve, “same roast” is memory.

How it is done: Probes + software → plot BT/ET → mark crack, gas, air, charge → compare to the cup.

Flavours and cup benefits: Enables repeating sweetness/clarity and teaching. Pretty curve ≠ great cup—cupping rules.

Technical notes: Compare curves on same machine/charge. Calibrate probes. Back up profiles.

Common mistakes: Do not copy another roaster’s curve without density context. Do not watch ET only.
