Process / benefit

Ethyl acetate

Also known as ethyl acetate · EA decaf · sugarcane decaf · ethyl acetate process

What it is and what sets it apart: EA dissolves caffeine after steam/hydration. Differs from Swiss Water (solvent) and CO₂ (different chemistry).

How it is done: Steamed greens → EA extraction → steam residuals → dry.

Flavours and cup benefits: Can give cane sweetness and friendly body. Accessible; chemical notes if residuals high.

Technical notes: Residues regulated. Label: EA / sugarcane / ethyl acetate.

Common mistakes: Do not assume EA is always “bad chemical” or always “good natural”. Do not confuse with Swiss Water.
