Uniformity

Also known as uniformity · cup uniformity

What it is and what sets it apart: SCA attribute that penalises heterogeneity. Distinct from complexity—complex cups can still be uniform.

How it’s perceived or evaluated: Taste all five cups; if one fails, mark and deduct per protocol. Check grind and dosing of the set.

Flavours, benefits or impact: High uniformity builds lot trust. One bad cup sinks commercial impression.

Technical notes: Process/milling issues or table error affect it. Not the same as roast-drum uniformity.

Common mistakes: Do not ignore the odd cup. Do not always blame protocol without checking green.
