Origin and quality

Da Lat

Also known as Da Lat · Lam Dong · Đà Lạt coffee

What sets it apart: Da Lat (Lam Dong) is Vietnam’s specialty arabica highland—cooler climate and cleaner lots than Đắk Lắk robusta. The city name isn’t one fixed cup.

How it’s produced and typical processing: In Da Lat, production usually sits between 1400–1700 m. Typical processing includes lavado, natural, honey. Harvest is often November–March. Cross-check altitude, process and producer—the regional name alone is not enough.

Flavours in the cup: In the cup, Da Lat lots often suggest tea, fine cocoa, citrus and honey. Variety, process and roast shift the profile: use it as a compass within Vietnam, not a fixed label.

Typical process in specialty: In specialty, Da Lat refines a search inside Vietnam: read farm/station, variety and process on the label. Clean filter for highland arabica—don’t expect lowland robusta.

Technical notes and common mistakes: Don’t treat “Da Lat” as an automatic quality guarantee or as all of Vietnam. Avoid paying only for the regional name or equating one micro-lot with the zone average.
