Catimor

What it is and what sets it apart: Catimor is a variety or species documented in specialty coffee. Modern selection or cross (often with Timor Hybrid/Robusta introgression): prioritises plant health and yield without giving up quality when well grown. Also known as Catimor, híbrido Catimor. Reference genetics: Caturra × Timor Hybrid: group of rust-resistant lines (not pure Robusta).

Flavours in the cup: Can be sweet, cocoa-like or fruity; the cup varies widely—do not infer flavour from rust resistance alone. Process (washed, natural, honey), elevation and roast can shift this guidance a lot.

Technical notes and growing zone: Usual zone and origins: Vietnam, Indonesia, India, Costa Rica, Honduras. Guidance altitude: 1.200–1.600 m. Habit: Medium to compact shrub selected for vigour and manageable production. Cultivation: Resistance and adaptation vary by line; confirm local guidance and keep sound crop management.
